Each year, Childsplay mentors 5 young playwrights to write a ten minute script based on a theme. Once that script is written it is given to YETi to produce in an annual festival.
Each script is brought to life by youth directors and performers of all ages in a "staged reading." Throughout the process, playwrights may continue to make edits to their script so actors will perform holding their scripts.
Every year, we are amazed with what young people can create when you give them space and mentoring to do so. Please join us for this incredible event that puts young people at the center of art and creativity. You're sure to laugh, be moved, and learn something.
