Purpose: Provide professional, friendly face to Childsplay patrons and other visitors to campus when the full time receptionist is away.
Scope of Work: Answer/transfer phone calls, greet walk-in visitors and sign for deliveries. Be familiar with Childsplay’s mission and programs in order to direct calls and visitors to the appropriate staff and to answer basic questions. May be assigned clerical tasks to perform during hours on the front desk. [See also Data Entry Person]
Skills /Attributes: Welcoming personality, Comfortable meeting people and getting information from a variety of sources. Not afraid to ask (lots of) questions. Punctual, dependable.
Time Commitment: Full (9 to 5) or half (mornings or afternoons) days when regular receptionist is on leave or a special project – or on a semi-regular basis. Need can be estimated several weeks in advance.
Work Environment: Pleasant former elementary school. Fun, hard-working, inclusive staff members. Front desk with computer work station. Views of birdlife out the windows.
