Purpose: Managing lobby store sales, which support Childsplay’s Arts-In-Education programs, during weekend public performances. Ambassador is considered the “face” of Childsplay during the performance and would be expected to interact with patrons, answer questions about the show, and promote Childsplay programs and upcoming events.
Scope of work: Set-up merchandise & other outreach tables (includes, but not limited to, signage, displaying items, birthday party tables, 360 degree display, community drives, etc.).
--Handle Sales Transactions from start to finish
--Manages and works with the NCL volunteers for the day
--Gives Curtain Speech on stage before performance
--Clean-up and storage of materials
Skills/Attributes: Outgoing and Friendly Personality, Detail-Oriented, Organized, Experience handling money (preferably in a business setting), Experience managing people, Loves Childsplay!
Time Commitment: This is a weekend position. Schedule can be based on volunteer’s availability. (Time slots are typically as follows: Saturdays: 11:30 am – 3:00 pm; 3:00 pm – 6:30 pm; Sundays: 11:30 am – 3:00 pm; 3:00 pm – 6:30 pm).
Work Environment: Fun, casual, hard-working environment. - Tempe Center for the Arts, 700 W. Rio Salado Parkway Tempe, 85281 – the position may require some time spent in Childsplay’s administration offices at 900 S. Mitchell Drive Tempe, 85281.
