Purpose: Help Childsplay put its best foot forward to visitors. Assist in keeping campus secure and running smoothly, helping prevent more major repairs and keeping assets longer. This will help save some resources and allow staff with other jobs to focus on them without worrying about repairs.
Scope of Work: Answers Bat Signal to do minor repairs and plans preventive upkeep with staff. Minor carpentry, glazing, painting, organization of tools and materials, Building or hanging fixtures/devices.
Skills / Attributes: Carpentry and other mechanical skills. “Tool muscles.” Ability to work independently and strategize cooperatively. Creativity/ingenuity in problem solving.
Time Commitment: 5 to 10 hours per month on a flexible schedule. Possibly more if more time is desired by the volunteer.
Work Environment: Charming but frail former elementary school campus. Indoor and outdoor tasks. “Man Cave”—space with tools, materials and shelving on campus. Jobs will be done over the whole campus.
